If You Think You’re Too Young for Dementia, Think Again

  • NeuRA is supporting a campaign led by News Corp Australia, Think Again’, to challenge perceptions of dementia and inspire action
  • The campaign reframes dementia as a brain health issue, encouraging earlier intervention
  • Targeting Australians aged 40 – 60, Think Again focuses on prevention and proactive measures

NeuRA is proud to support News Corp Australia’s national campaign, Think Again, which aims to reshape people’s understanding of dementia.

The campaign launched to coincide with Dementia Action Week, supported by NeuRA, Dementia Australia, Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing, Murdoch children’s Research Institute, Dr Rowena Mobbs, the Australian Medical Association, The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and others.

The four-week editorial initiative is led by news.com.au and The Australian, with backing from the News Corp Australia network. Dementia is now Australia’s leading cause of death and stories in the campaign will not only look at people diagnosed with the condition, but also the modifiable risk factors, reducing stigma and promoting action and prevention.

Pieces published so far include an op ed from NeuRA CEO, Professor Matthew Kiernan AM, that shares his personal story of interest in this area, plus pieces featuring research and insights from Professor Kaarin Anstey and Associate Professor Emma Devenney.
