Emotional recovery program for chronic pain

Chronic pain is pain which persists beyond three months. For 20 per cent of Australians, this pain is experienced so seriously that it disables them. These numbers are predicted to rise in the coming decades.

Despite the availability of analgesics and other pain therapies, no single effective treatment has been found that benefits the majority of chronic pain sufferers, and many available medications have significant side effects or risks for serious adverse events. Nell's research explores the efficacy of a psychological intervention specifically targeted to address the emotional aspects of chronic pain.
