Anthony is a research assistant in Dr Claire Shepherd’s Neurodegeneration Lab. He completed a Bachelor of Science majoring in Neuroscience and Pharmacology at the University of Sydney in 2023.

Currently, he has been undertaking human brain tissue studies to explore the pathogenesis of chronic traumatic encephalopathy and frontotemporal lobar degeneration. In particular, he is determining whether alterations in the cellular constituents of the glymphatic system, a recently discovered novel waste clearance system in the brain, underlie neurodegeneration in chronic traumatic encephalopathy.  Additionally, he has been exploring the relationship between proteins, neuroinflammation and degeneration in frontotemporal lobar degeneration, with focus on cases with unique genetic mutations.
