Professor Cheryl Jones, Dean of Medicine and Health at UNSW, is a globally recognised authority on childhood infectious diseases and has over 30 years of clinical expertise. She was previously Head of School and Dean of Sydney Medical School and held senior leadership roles at the University of Sydney and University of Melbourne. Professor Jones completed her PhD at Harvard Medical School on genetically engineered replication-defective herpes simplex viruses, and her work on encephalitis and congenital infections has influenced global health policy and practice. Professor Jones is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health & Medical Sciences and has secured over $35 million in research funding and published 170+ peer-reviewed articles.
