Erandhi has over 7 years’ experience working in research, with a major in molecular and cell biology. She has a special interest in the movement disorder HSP and Parkinson’s disease and is highly skilled in cell-based assay development and complex cell culture.

After completing her BBiomedSc in the 2015, she joined the Human Reproduction Unit, at the Kolling Institute, University of Sydney, where she worked on the project “Molecular regulation of early mammalian embryo development” and acquired skills in small animal handling and microscopy. Thereby she started working with Professor Sue, as part of the Neurogenetics team. Here she has been part of the “Biomarker for SPG7” and the “drug discovery for the SPG4 patients” projects funded by the HSP Research Foundation. She is also a part of the ASAP project “Biology of PD-associated Genes and Neuro-immune Interactions”, funded by the Michael J Fox Foundation (2021), where she is using her advanced cell culture techniques for IPSC lines and mitochondrial function assays developed to understand the genetics of Parkinson's disease.
