Our research is focused on understanding the underlying causes of schizophrenia and finding new treatments that not only improve symptoms but ultimately, improve quality of life for people affected.

Schizophrenia is a mental illness that emerges in adolescence or young adulthood and affects approximately 1 in 100 people in Australia and worldwide. It causes difficulties in thinking and unusual experiences such as hearing unpleasant voices. People with schizophrenia have difficulty planning tasks, problem solving, focusing attention, remembering information and interacting with others.
